I hung the Christmas lights out on the bushes. (Waiting for it to get really cold just didn't seem like a good idea. Anyone who says that I have done this too soon can feel free to put into writing they would put them up for me in the blowing snow at the end of the month.)

Did you see the eclipse last Saturday night? It was really very interesting. This picture was taken in Florida and e-mailed to me.

Monroe County's Seneca Park Zoo has announced that six African penguins will be moving to various American Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA) accredited zoos to start their own families. Penguins have already begun to depart, to Toledo, Memphis, and to Quebec. Seneca Park's African penguin colony is the third largest breeding colony in the nation.

Annual Christmas Open House Saturday & Sunday (Nov. 15 & 16), 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at The School House Country Store, corner of Lake Road and Maxwell Rd., Sodus. Original one-room school house featuring holiday gifts, collectibles and home accessories, all for your holiday shopping. Refreshments and door prizes. There will be a fresh evergreen tree decorated with handmade ornaments. Enjoy homemade Christmas cookies.

This Sunday (Nov. 16) is the Wayne County B&B Open House Tour. Drive yourself to view some of Wayne County's B&B decked out for the holiday season. Refreshments will be served.

November 18 - History at Night at the Wayne County Museum, 21 Butternut Street, Lyons. Andi Evangelist will speak on Murders, Mystery and Madness. Presentation will be several accounts of murders that happened in Wayne County in the 20th century. Coffee and dessert will be provided.
