Congratulations to Lynne Littlefield of Sodus us who was the winner of the special Possible Dreams Santa at the Leaning Barn holiday open house.

'You can't lose weight by talking about it - you have to keep your mouth shut.'

George Beadle is recovering from recent surgery.

Marge Smith returned to her home from the Wayne County Nursing Home.

The blue paraments gracing the communion table and the lecterns, at the Marion United Church, were purchased in memory of John and Bertha Kooman.

And Linda Schutt is responsible for the beautiful holiday wreaths hanging at the entrances to the church and above the communion table.

NOVEMBER 30, 1950: - Strong winds downed wires and damaged farms on Saturday. High-tension wires blown against the barn of Mr. And Mrs. Peter VerDow caused fire and electrocuted a horse. Wind damage was also reported by W.M. Storage on Buffalo Street, a section of the roof torn away, and similar damage by Ralph Austin, John Blankenberg, Orrin Crane, John DeLue, Merrit Means, John Rich and Joe Stevens.

To grow a crystal garden - Put several charcoal briquets in a shallow glass dish. Mix 1/4 cup water, 1/4 cup laundry bluing, 1/4 cup table salt and one tablespoon ammonia together in a bowl. Slowly and carefully pour this mixture over the charcoal. The charcoal must stick up out of the liquid. Soon crystals will begin to form. How they grow depends on the temperature and humidity at your house. If you want colorful crystals drop food coloring onto the charcoal.
