Foster care needed for animals

The Humane Society of Wayne County is looking for foster care homes for some of the shelter animals. These animals are either too young, need further socialization, or are recuperating from an injury or treatable illness requiring special attention. These, however, are excellent pets the shelter staff feels have an excellent chance at adoption once they are older or healthy again.

Need is especially great now when litters of orphaned kittens are being brought to the shelter that require special one-on-one attention.

Foster parents provide a safe environment for these animals to mature, become more socialized or heal from an existing injury or illness. Foster care assignments can last from two weeks to eight weeks or more if necessary. If you are interested in opening your home and becoming a foster parent to a needy animal please stop down to the shelter, or if you have questions regarding the program: 946.3389.
