First Habitat home for Marion
Jill Fritz and her children: Grace & Christian

Marion's first Habitat home will be built on Eddy Ridge Road, north of the Boss Road, on property given by the Means family. It will be the 22nd House built in Wayne County since 1988 by Habitat for Humanity.

All work is done by church and other volunteers as well as the selected home owner. Church groups from Palmyra, Farmington and Macedon have been supportive of this home. Marion folks will be asked to volunteer their time to make the house a reality.

Selection is based on need, ability to pay and partnership. Partnership provides someone who will guide the prospective homeowner through the long process of home ownership.

Each home has a front porch designed to bring the family out into the community. The home includes a stove and refrigerator, included in the mortgage.

Marion's applicant is Jill Fritz and her children: Grace, 16 months, and Christian, 9. He is interested in sports and has joined the Webelos. Jill was born in Oklahoma and is the Manager/Supervisor at the Armstrong Senior Living in Newark.
