With all the wind, rain, and even snow, I think most of the pretty leaves fell off already. I hate to see them go. I go into the stores lately and find myself walking toward the Christmas display. I try not to do that. What are Ralph and Betty Everdyke up to? He writes: 'Played Golf yesterday. Didn't play too well but had a good time anyway. Didn't see any alligators on the course, but I did see some Sand Hill Cranes. After golf, I picked up Betty and we went to dinner with the other golfers. A new restaurant. They were having special opening offerings. Early bird specials. Buy one and get the 2nd for $2. We both had a cup of soup, fish, with potato and vegetable and garlic bread. Also cake for dessert and we both had one beer. Total cost $10.55. Heluva Good has announced that their sour cream dips are now available throughout Florida. Apparently, snowbirds have been writing to them for quite awhile now asking why they couldn't find their favorite dip while they wintered in Florida. People who have moved to Florida for work or school have been telling their friends and neighbors about the great-tasting dip they use to get back home. Well, problem solved. Heluva Good dip is now in your local supermarket's dairy case. (Try the new Buffalo Wing Dip, the newest limited-edition flavor. It has the flavor of medium-hot Buffalo wings dipped in bleu cheese. It has a little bite upfront with the finish of bleu cheese.) On this Thursday's Wake Up Rochester show on News 8, Debra was on TV showing easy ways you and your kids can carve creative jack-o-lanterns. Were you up early enough to see it? The Wallington Halloween Parade is tomorrow at 10 a.m. Meet at the Torrey's house at 7903 Ridge Rd. at 9:30 a.m. and parade to the Fire Hall for a Halloween Party. Global Travel is planning another fun trip: November 15 - 16, Deck the Halls wine tour; a Christmas wine tour around Seneca Lake. You get a wreath and collect ornaments at each winery, and enjoy food and wine tastings. Also mark your calendars: November 26 - 29, Thanksgiving in NYC. We used to love to drive past there to look at the llama on our way home from the Apple Shed. It's not every day you get to see llamas in the fields. We had the opportunity to get to know the llamas and how they are raised when there was an event at the farm a few years ago with the Scout group.
