Lyons dog wins blue ribbons

Blue ribbons have been awarded to Remy, six-year-old Jack Russell Terrier and favorite pet of Dorothy and Jim Madden of Lyons.

Remy has participated for years in the Walnut Hills Jack Russell Races in Henrietta. On Aug. 15, the terrier brought home three first-prize blue ribbons and one second place. He has brought home prize ribbons to adorn his doghouse.

Any Jack Russell owners may register their pet to race in the Walnut Hills Tournament. Each year the tournament and others like them are held in and around the Rochester area. Remy competed in a tournament September 19 at the Mendon Arts Festival, where he again brought home three blue ribbons.

Remy was purchased by the Maddens six years ago from a Jack Russell breeder in Maryland. Remy and his family reside on Hillcrest Drive in Lyons.
