Register for the Marion Mile

The 8th annual Marion Mile will take place Saturday, September 20 at 8:30 a.m. The race will be held in downtown Marion on its original course that starts at the Post Office, loops around Union and Evergreen Streets, and finishes in front of the M&T Bank. Maps of the course are available for more details.

This race is for the whole family. It doesn't matter if you want to run, walk, or jog - all skill levels are encouraged to participate in this event!

There are categories for juniors (ages 11 and under), scholastic boys (12-18), scholastic girls (12-18), adult men (19-39), adult women (19-39), and of course, the infamous Masters categories for men and women who are older than 39.

A fee of $2 will be charged for individuals, with a maximum of $5 for a family of three or more. Entrants are also required to bring a canned food item with them on the day of the race. All money and food will be donated to the Marion Food Pantry. Over $700 dollars and many boxes of canned goods have been raised for the pantry since the race started back in 1996.

For participating in the race, the first 100 applications will receive a free T-shirt. In addition, completion certificates will be available along with prizes donated by the Marion Merchants for the winner and winners in each category. Applications for the race are available at the Marion Town Hall or Marion Pharmacy or by calling John Bovet at 926.5217.
