Free gun locks offered in Wayne Project ChildSafe Tour will be in Wayne County is scheduled for September 13 and 14. The first daily stop will be at 9 a.m. On September 13 the tour will be at the Clyde Village Police Department, Wolcott Police Department, Sodus Village Police Department, Wayne County Sheriff's Office and Lyons Village Police Department. On September 14 they will be at the Newark Village Police Department, Palmyra Village Police Department and Macedon Village Police Department. The National Shooting Sports Foundation has partnered with the New York State Police and local law enforcement officials to distribute 712,500 free gun locks in New York as part of the national Project ChildSafe (PCS) initiative. PCS is designed to help make homes with firearms safer by raising awareness about responsible firearm ownership and storage. An expansion of NSSF's Project HomeSafe, Project ChildSafe is funded by a $50 million dollar grant from the Department of Justice and will provide nearly 20 million free gunlocks and firearm safety educational materials to families in all 50 states, the five U.S. territories and District of Columbia.
