Boat safety course

The Wayne County Sheriff's Department will be conducting an 8-hour boater safety class on September 20, from 8 to 4. The class will be held at the Wayne County Sheriff's office, located at 7368 Route 31, Lyons. For information call 946.5714.

Youths between the ages of 10 and 18 years old are required to have a boater safety certificate in order to operate a boat. Anyone age 31 and younger must have this certification to operate a personal watercraft (Jetski). This certification will only be issued upon completion of the boater safety course recognized by the state of New York.
