Oral histories will be collected in Lyons

'Remembering When,' a new program designed to collect oral histories, will begin at the Wayne County Old Jail Museum on Monday, October 6 at 10 a.m.

In this informal meeting, people will sit, exchange memories, and reminisce about the past, or just listen to other folks tell stories.

Topics will change each month and the group will meet on the first and third Monday of the month. The sessions will be taped and the recordings will be added to the Museum's oral history collection. The topic for October is The Prohibition Years.

Please register for this free event so seating can be arranged and refreshments planned. For more information, call the Society office at 946.4943, Monday-Friday, 10 to 4. The Wayne County Historical Society and Old Jail Museum is located on 21 Butternut Street, Lyons.
