Diane Van Lare of North Main Street spent Easter vacation with her daughter, Laura Eggleston; son-in-law, Jamie, and grandsons, Nick and Nate of Schenectady. The family celebrated Nate's first birthday with a special luncheon and a day of shopping in Albany. Easter dinner was celebrated at Barb and Jim Eggleston's home where all enjoyed many special Italian treats such as Ricotta Pie and fabulous stuffed shells, eggplant plus traditional 'bubka' bread along with traditional baked ham and scalloped potatoes. Welcome home from the sunny south, to Nellie DeWispelaere. The Ministry of Music at the Second Reformed Church on April 18 was presented by Julia Reesor. She sang Who Am I? at the worship service. Guest organist at the Second Reformed Church on April 18, was Joanne Porter of Philadelphia. She and husband , Tom, are the parents of Judy White of the Mill Street Church. Former pastor of the Second Reformed Church, Nicolaos Tsianaklides, will be preaching at the morning and evening services on April 25. Josh Bovet is recovering from a broken nose after being hit with a baseball. Last week I opened the Marion Museum with a display entitled 'Maps.' It is interesting to see how Marion was laid out in 1912. All of the churches have horse sheds to which to hitch their horses during the church services. Some took home the jam and jelly recipes accompanying the antique jam and jelly jars displayed in the country kitchen. April 19, 1913: Appomattox Day was largely attended about 150 veterans being present. It was a pleasant gathering for all.
