Understanding legal documents

Attorney Paul M. Ryther, Esq. will appear in the Lyons and Newark Public Libraries to provide an overview of important legal documents every New Yorker should be aware of. A public service project of the New York State Bar Association, 'Mitchell Rabbino Decision-Making Day Program' provides volunteer lawyers statewide to community facilities, senior centers, libraries and hospitals. These volunteer lawyers give free presentations explaining legal procedures and documents to help people make better, more informed health care and financial decisions.

This year, the tenth annual Decision-Making Day, will include a legal checklist of important documents, including Wills, Advance Directives, New York Health Care Proxy, Living Will vs. HCP, Do Not Resuscitate (DNR), Organ and Tissue Donation, and Powers of Attorney.

Attend one of the two local Mitchell Rabbino Decision-Making Days and make sure that you are informed about these important legal documents:

Lyons Public Library - Wednesday, May 5 at 7 p.m. 315.946.9262

Newark Public Library - Thursday, May 6 at 6 p.m. 315.331.4370

These programs are free and open to the public.
