Master Gardeners plant sale in Newark

The volunteer Master Gardeners of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Wayne County are sponsoring a Plant Sale on May 8, from 8 to noon at the corner of Route 88 North and Hydesville Road, in Newark.

Sale items will include a wide selection of herbs, annuals, perennials and vegetable transplants, nursery specimens, groundcovers, and geraniums. There will be a 'Children Only' table with Mother's Day gifts.

Homeowners may buy top-quality plants at bargain prices. Master Gardeners will assist with plant selections and cultural advice. Soil pH testing will be available. For this you need to bring an air-dried soil sample representative of your garden area.

The sale proceeds will go toward improvement of the consumer horticulture program, to update and increase educational resource material and to develop classes available to all Wayne County individuals.

4-H Teen Exchange will be having a pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 11. For information, call the Extension Office at 331.8415.
