Rod and Helen Adriaansen have come home from their stay in Florida. Hope they brought some of that wonderful sun with them.

I'm getting tired of doing hand wash. The question is when will they fix the drain situation on Union Street?

They have planted two trees at the Marion Library grounds, improving the environment.

Faith in Action - It's time once again for the annual CROP WALK - Sunday, May 2. Money raised through this walk goes to aid people throughout the world who are suffering from hunger, homelessness, and lack of clean water. Part of the money raised (25%) stays here in our community and is donated to the Food Pantry and the Good Neighbor Fund. Please see Tim Mattle at St. Gregory's to sign up as a walker. If you cannot walk, please consider sponsoring someone else.

The ice cream window at the Marion Pharmacy will open May 6!

Barcy Smith remains a patient at Rochester General.

Eleanor Schoonerman has had recent successful cataract surgery.

Chicken BBQ happens Saturday, May 8, at the Masonic Temple on North Main Street, beginning at 3:30 p.m.

The American Legion will meet on May 3, 6:30 p.m. at the Legion Hall. Officers will be voted into office.

April 23, 1953: Cpl. Abram J. Hotel with the third infantry division in Korea, was recently awarded the Bronze Star Medal for rescuing three wounded comrades from a fire-swept battlefield in Korea.

The Student Council Prom is tomorrow, May 1, from 7 to midnight at Blue Heron Hills.

'Arts Alive' on May 13 at the Elementary School will feature an Art Show Beginning at 6 p.m. and the 5/6 Grade Chorus Concert at 7 p.m. The Art Show will be in the art room, cafeteria, and various hallways in the school. The Chorus Concert will be in the auditorium! Come and enjoy an evening of art and music.

Congratulations to all students and staff who participated in the 'AIDS in Africa' fundraiser before vacation. We raised an amazing $243. A special thank you to the students who helped organize and plan this project and to the students, teachers and staff who offered their services in the cafeteria that day. You guys are the best!

A Williamson Community Square Dance is set for Friday, May 21 at Williamson High School from 7 to 9. Free admission and no experience needed.
