Come-Unity Center plans Golf Tourney

The Come-Unity Center invites you to its 11th Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, August 13 at Taranwould Golf Course off Hydesville Road outside Newark.

Registration begins at noon. Four person scramble tees off at 1 p.m. The fee is still $65 per golfer. The fee includes a box lunch, cold drinks on the course, greens fee, cart, gourmet buffet dinner and door prizes. Raffle tickets for other prizes will be sold.

Grand Prize is dinner and an overnight stay for two at a bed and breakfast. Grand Prize will be won by a golfer whose ball lands closest to the pin on a designated hole.

Williamson Come-Unity Center operates a second hand clothing store, soup kitchen and provides food boxes for people in Wayne County. Our average customer is a single working mother with kids trying to get by on a limited income. This tournament helps provide these services and pay their bills.

If you will be away August 13 or don't play golf, you can still help out by sponsoring a hole. For $60 they will place a computer-generated sign with the name of your family, business, farm, church or organization near the hole of your choice or one chosen by them. That way all the golfers will know you care about your neighbors in need. Sponsoring a hole may bring you good luck, too.

Call 589.8105 Tuesday through Friday 10 to 4.
