Lyons Library seeks old photos, memories

The Lyons Public Library is looking to collect memories and photos of the old Lyons Community Hospital, the future site of the new library. The Memory Project is an effort to help preserve the history of an important institution in Lyons.

People who were former patients of the hospital, former workers and volunteers, or who may have had a family member involved with the hospital are requested to submit any memories or photos that they may have of the hospital by October 1. Once all the materials have been received, they will then be organized into memory scrapbooks that will be kept at the library.

Examples of the types of items that the library is looking for include newspaper clippings, postcards, cards, photos, etc. as well as any memories that people may want to write down and submit for the project. Items may be dropped off at the library or sent to the library at the following address:

Lyons Public Library, 67 Canal Street, Lyons, NY 14489. For more information, call 946.9262.
