Peach pie wins County Fair contest Katrina Chellis, of Main Street, Walworth won the 15th annual Wayne County Fair Pie Contest on Tuesday, August 10. Katrina competed for the first time with 38 other contestants for the title of Wayne County's Best Pie Baker and the $50 first prize. Second place went to Jim Wilck, West Maple Avenue, Newark. He made a blender pecan pie. Third place went to Suzanne Norman, of Macedon with her peach pie. Heather Plumb, of Macedon Ctr. Road, Macedon received 4th place honors with her apple pie. Fifth place went to first time competitor Colleen Seuffert of Walworth with her early gold apple pie. Jennifer Beign, of Palmyra took 6th place honors with her peach blueberry pie. Motts North America of Williamson, sponsored the 15th Annual Wayne County Fair Pie Contest. Mott's gave all the contestants a Mott's pocket watch. Immediately following the competition, Vans Auction Service of Marion auctioned off all the pies. The auction raised over $400. All proceeds go towards Fair renovations.
