Sodus Point Triathlon set for August 22 August 22 will mark the first Sodus Point Triathlon and will be directed by YellowJacket Racing, a Rochester based Race Directing Company. The Sodus Point Triathlon is a .45 mile swim followed by a 12.4 mile bike, then a 3.1 mile run. The swim will occur in the Lake Ontario starting at the beach area. Upon completion of the swim athletes will begin riding their bikes south of Sodus Point then head back north to the Beach Parking Lot. The run will meander through the homes on the lakeside near the Lighthouse. This event will also serve as a benefit for the Sodus Point Neighborhood Association. The event itself begins at 8:30. There will also be a Kids Triathlon upon completion of the adult race which will include a 50 yd swim, 3.1 mile bike and a .75 mile run. The entire event is sanctioned by USAT, the national governing body of Triathlon in the US.
