Lyons students sing at the County Home The Christmas Season at the Wayne County Nursing Home started off with a musical visit from the Lyons Elementary School on Wednesday. Under the Band Director, Heather Bowen, and the Chorus Director Tom Mancine, the children filled the main dining of the Wayne County Nursing Home with joyful sounds of Christmas music. The students, in grades 4-5-6, enjoy this field trip; it's an opportunity to perform for an appreciated audience before their Christmas concert. Some children dressed in Santa suits and Santa caps. The children were treated to Christmas cut-out cookies & punch after their performance as a thank-you from the food & nutrition dept. at the W.C.N.H. Susan V. VanLare is the Volunteer Coordinator, and Jane Beach is Activities Director at the Home. The Festival of Trees is on! The beautifully decorated trees are in and around the County Nursing Home. Many donated trees are available on the silent auction. Successful bidders will be notified after the final open house on December 18 and, may be picked up by the highest bidder on December 19. The proceeds of the silent auction will benefit the Resident Fund.
