County Home residents help others

Often during the holiday season there are requests for donations to residents in area nursing homes.

At Wayne County Nursing Home, residents are requesting donations, not for themselves but for others. The residents, in collaboration with staff, are sponsoring two local families in Wayne County for the Christmas Holiday.

They ask staff, visitors and community members to donate non-perishable food items, clothing or money.

Last year, the residents sponsored one family, which required our large coach to carry all the donations, Christmas dinner and Santa to make the holiday delivery. This was such a success that we have expanded the rewarding project to sponsor two families, continuing the tradition of Wayne County a Loving Home Away from Home!
