Colton concert at Marion school
By Beth Hoad
Glenn Colton

Glenn Colton, singer, songwriter and children's entertainer, opened a 'triple feature' at Marion High School on November 29.

His show preceded the public information meeting regarding the district's capital project and regular Board of Education meeting held the same evening.

His up-beat presentation, which was sponsored by the Marion PTA, drew on a variety of 1970's styles imitating the Beach Boys, Chubby Checker, Jimmy Buffet and others. Using many original songs he had presented earlier in the day at the Elementary School as part of the district's anti-bullying campaign, Colton included sing-alongs and numbers that also had the audience dancing in the aisles to the beat of the limbo and twist.

Colton, a former teacher living in Orchard Park, said his shows promote healthy choices, self-reliance, character-building and doing your best. 'My shows are about caring about what is right and doing it,' he said.
