Residents critique Clyde

Clyde Chamber Image Program is looking over 37 responses from citizens.

Village and town folks served on a committee in November which listened to the concerns expressed by residents/taxpayers.

Comments have been forwarded to the Village of Clyde and Town of Galen Boards for consideration and possible action.

The responses show that there is a need to improve code and enforcement. Ten concerns focused on two buildings in the heart of the central business area. These buildings project an unsatisfactory vision of the way people in Clyde want their village viewed.

Other concerns are signs, loitering, street cleaning, street garbage and pick-up, beautification, police, scheduling of village employees, publishing of official government minutes, fuel facility co-operative use, disposing of snow in park, and the open ditch through the village.

The Chamber committee will present these items to the appropriate boards for further study along with some of the constructive comments made. A copy of all responses will be kept by the Chamber.

The committee will meet in January to address suggestions.
