Sports Briefs: The varsity girls defeated East Rochester, 44-22. Krystal Adriaansen led with 17 points and Deanna Nortier scored 11. Congratulations to Krystal who has earned the title of Marion's All Time Leading Scorer. She was presented a game ball. The JV girls basketball team used a 14-2 fourth quarter run to defeat East Rochester 34-21. Brianne Raes scored 10 of her 13 points in the decisive final quarter, and Melissa Boise chipped in eight for the game. Joelle Kearns played the best all-around game of her junior varsity career, playing stifling defense and scoring nine points, and remaining an offensive threat throughout the game.
