Coin Club to honor Maury Warner The regular meeting of the Wayne County Coin Club will be at the American Legion Hall, 200 E Union Street, Newark, at 7 p.m. on January 5. The business meeting portion will be devoted to finding a suitable way to honor the memory and legacy of Past President Maurice 'Maury' Warner, who died in December. Following the meeting there will be two auctions. The first will be an auction of numismatic items (coins, bills, medals and tokens) donated by club members to fund a memorial for Maury. The second will be an auction of members numismatic items they wish to dispose of, generally so they can afford to buy other items for their collections. Anyone interested in the collecting and preserving of any type of items used for money, be it coins, bills, tokens or even wooden nickels is welcome to attend the meeting. Generally the meetings are over by 9 p.m., so children are welcome to attend. Most meetings are attended by at least three members who are not only collectors but have been dealers for many years. They are qualified to both appraise and are anxious to buy numismatic items. While membership is not required to buy or sell at the meeting, it is encouraged. Annual dues are three dollars. Copyright
