Happenings The historians of Wayne County met recently at the Arcadia Museum. At a make-up basketball game, Marion hosted North Rose-Wolcott at a Saturday game. Marion won 71-42. Elvin pumped in nine points, Schutt nine, Weser 21, Devlin 16, Barton four, Muster three, Hansen four and Walker five. Three pointers were made by Muster, Weser, Schutt, Elvin, Walker and Devlin. The Marion JV's won 58-43. 'If you look like your old passport picture, you probably need the trip.' No School February 16-20 for President's Week recess. Be careful how you live - you may be the only bible some people read. A recipe that is not shared with others will soon be forgotten. But when it's shared, it will be enjoyed by future generations. The Necco Candy Co. sells eight billion of its pastel-colored, slogan-bearing conversation hearts 'Be Mine' each year. Verona, Italy, where Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is set, receives nearly 1000 valentines addressed to Juliet every February. This year a whopping billion valentines will be exchanged. Congratulations to Glenn and Jeanette Losey who celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on February 7. Sally Hoffman was guest organist at the Marion United Church on February 8. Ed Bliek has been transferred to the Wayne County Nursing Home. Tom Cook is a patient at Strong Memorial Hospital. Clara Cramer Rogers passed away on February 8, 2004 at the age of 96 in Montana. She was born and raised on Hall Center Road. She moved with her husband, Norman, 60 years ago. She leaves two sons, Jack and Dick in Montana, several grandchildren and one great-grandchild and a sister Milda Cramer Crayton in Williamson. She was predeceased by her husband Norman and a son Jerry. She was a school teacher in Walworth. 2004 is the 25th anniversary of the Wayne County Fair Queen and Princess pageant. Any girls who have taken part in the past years are asked to contact Gerry Dekdebrun at 926.4926. Wayne County girls 12 to 17 years of age wishing to take part in the pageant please call Gerry. The pageant will be held April 23, at Marion High School. Newark Wrestling Tournament results - Joel Bantle, 160 lbs., first place; Nick Hasbrouck, 112, 2nd; Andy Gardner, 275, 2nd; Nick Mayville, 140, 3rd; Corey Camp, 130, 3rd; James Bond, 189, 3rd. The team received third place overall. The girls basketball team defeated Williamson 49-38. Chrissy DeFisher and Krystal Adriaansen led the Lady Knights with 12 points apiece and Suzie DeFisher added 10 points. Copyright
