Tree seedling program

The deadline to order tree and shrub seedlings from the Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) is rapidly approaching. March 22 will be the last day to order tree and shrub seedlings from the 'Forever Green' Tree Program.

This program makes available bare root tree and shrub seedlings suitable for reforestation, wildlife habitat, watershed protection, erosion control, backyard conservation and general environmental improvement.

More than 27 species are available including; evergreens, deciduous trees, groundcover and flowering shrubs. Also available are Bluebird nesting boxes to help promote our State Bird. Bat Houses for mosquito control and Wood Duck Nesting Boxes.

This program is open to the public. Order forms, information and pricing is available at the SWCD office, 10 Leach Road in Lyons or you can call the SWCD office direct at 946.4136 to have an order form sent to you. Deadline to order is March 22.

Anticipated pick-up dates are April 16 and 17 in Alton.
