You think it's as cold as it can get, and it then gets colder.

Jacob Spencer was home during the holidays. During the time he was home, he visited as many friends and relatives as he could. Condolences to him and his family in the passing of his Aunt Rebecca. It sounds like he really enjoyed the snow and said the kids enjoyed seeing the snow in Syracuse. Jake has two kids. Jorden is seven and in second grade. Jake says she is very smart. And his younger, Benjamin, who is four, is going to pre-school right now and will be ready for kindergarten next year. He said they do keep him on his toes. I'm glad Jake his wife Becca ( Rebecca?) and kids had a really good time. It's nice we had snow for them to enjoy while they were here. (Now it can all just go away.)

People who are from up north (especially Wayne County) are so used to the cold and snow. I remember Eileen Hooper telling me when it would get cold in Florida, she would get out her big winter coat and people would ask where she had gotten it, hoping they could run out and get one as well. You know the saying: 'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.'

Looking for a quick meal for dinner? How about French Dip? You need Steak-ums, French bread, or another bread that is similar, mozzarella cheese and either French onion soup or beef broth. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Pour two cans of the soup with water into a large pan, heat up. Fry the Steak-ums and set aside. Cut open length-wise the bread. (Cut the bread in half, too, unless you are very hungry. Cook as many Steak-ums as you need to cover half of the bread; add mozzarella cheese; pop in the oven and cook until the cheese has melted. When it's done, put the top on the bread loaf, then slice into slices and place on the plate. Put the broth into a bowl; place on the side of the plate with steak sandwich slices; dip and enjoy.

At the Sodus Primary School, a field trip is in the planning. Kids will have off on Monday the l9th for Martin Luther Kings birthday. Later that week, Kindergartners will go to the Strong Museum in Rochester.
