Toastmasters open house at Wayne Arts
Claire Fisher, Judy Elliott and Kathleen Corcoran

Toastmasters of Wayne County, Wayne Articulators, announce an open house for January 26 at 7:15 p.m. in Newark, at the Wayne Council of the Arts, 108 West Miller Street.

Claire Fisher, Judy Elliott and Kathleen Corcoran are planning the open house.

Any adult interested in improving communication or leadership skills is welcome.

Jeff Burgess, Newark, a newer member and Bob Leisten, Palmyra, a long-time member, will present two short speeches. Burgess will give a talk based on guidelines in the basic Communication and Leadership manual. Leisten will speak from an Advanced Manual.

Karl Obine of Sodus, Toastmasters President, said the evening will demonstrate the three basics of the Toastmaster program: Speeches, feedback or critiques, and one minute impromptu speaking challenges.

The club is known for it friendly supportive environment, where members improve communication and leadership at their own pace. Prior registration is helpful but not necessary.

The door will be open at 7 p.m., and refreshments will be available.
