Nickel cans, bottles help Humane Society

The Humane Society of Wayne County is asking you to help homeless animals and to make Wayne County a cleaner place. Please return redeemable cans and bottles for deposits and donate the money to HSWC.

Please donate can and bottle deposits from your home and work for a week, a month, or even a year. All of these deposit proceeds will be put to good use, providing a humane facility to shelter, feed and care for the lost, unwanted and abused animals of Wayne County.

Clean empty redeemable bottles and cans may be dropped off in the collection bin located at the shelter, 1475 County House Road, Lyons.

Or, if you prefer, stop by the ALPCO Recycling Center on Rt. 31F in Macedon. Just look for the blue sign marked 'Residential Drop Off Center.' This sign will take you to a booth where the attendant will provide all necessary instruction. Once you have counted and turned in all of your clean, returnable cans and bottles, you will be given a receipt that you are to return to the attendant on your way out.

When turning in this receipt, please tell the attendant you would like the money from your can and bottle deposit to go to the Humane Society of Wayne County. ALPCO will do the rest!

Stop by the Shelter or ALPCO and donate your clean and empty redeemable cans and bottles (stamped with 'NY 5') to help the animals of Wayne County and save the planet.
