The Lyons Elks Lodge #869, together with the David D. Bradley, Inc. Insurance Agencies recently hosted the Lyons 5K Race to benefit cerebral palsy.

Many volunteers from the Elks Lodge and the community made the event a success. Event chairman Tom Gowan announced the results at the end of the race:

Overall winners were Patti Albert of Phelps (20:15) and Tom Johnson (17:43).

High School teams also competed in the race: 1st Clyde-Savannah; 2nd Lyons Soccer Players; 3rd Lyons High School Lions; 4th Lyons Squirrels

Event Chairman Gowan also recognized the many supporters of the event including local businesses and individuals for providing many needed supplies to help the event be successful.
