Director chosen for Historical Society

The Wayne County Historical Society announces the hiring of Aileen Fuller as Executive Director of the Society.

Fuller will be responsible for programming, education and outreach, volunteer coordination and day-to- day operations of the Old Jail Museum at 21 Butternut Street, Lyons. It is expected that over 8,000 visitors will tour the Museum by the end of 2004.

'We are lucky to have someone of Aileen's background and expertise come on board,' said Kathi Marshall, President of the Society. 'Aileen has the enthusiasm, creativity, organizational skills, and a knowledge of artifacts that will be a perfect fit for us.'

Fuller, a resident of Red Creek, most recently worked as Assistant Manager at Troy & Black, Inc. and as a manager at Vic's in Red Creek. She starts her full- time duties at the Museum on Monday (June 14).

The hours the Old Jail Museum are Monday - Friday, 10-4, and Saturday, noon-4. Tours may be scheduled for other times by calling the Society office at 946.4943.
