Lyons Pastors honored

The Rev. Dr. Cynthia Huling Hummel and the Rev. King Lewis were honored at the graduation and recognition ceremony for WARE: Wayne Action For Racial Equality.

The dinner and ceremony were held at the Church of the Epiphany in Sodus. Pastor King was honored with The Ivory Simmons Community Service Award. He is the pastor of The Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Lyons.

Pastor Cynthia received the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Service Award. She is the pastor of The First Presbyterian Church of Lyons.

The awards were presented by the Rev. Vera Alford, also of Lyons. Rev. Alford was one of the coordinators of the event. Lewis and Huling Hummel are both members of The Inter-Church Council of Lyons.
