Lyons kids to stage 'State Fair'

Don't miss the Iowa 'State Fair' at Lyons High School. This Rodgers & Hammerstein musical is being presented in cooperation with the Lyons Community Players.

Set against the colorful backdrop of an American heartland tradition, State Fair travels with the Frake family as they leave behind the routine of the farm for three days of adventure at the annual Iowa State Fair. Mom and Pop have their hearts set on blue ribbons while their daughter and son find romance and heartbreak on the midway.

Starring in this musical are Ryan Durham (Able Frake), LaToya Taylor (Melissa Frake), Nicole Leo (Margy Frake), Josh Stoep (Wayne Frake) Kurt Simmons (Pat Gilbert), and Sonya Clark (Emily Arden) pictured.

Performances are on Friday March 19 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday March 20 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday matinee at 2, with free refreshments at the matinee.

Advance sale tickets are available at the Earl Buchanan Auditorium beginning 10 to 2 and 5 to 7, Monday to Thursday. For tickets- call 946.4237.
