Happenings March 20 - Senior Dinner Dance. March 29 - Chicken & Biscuit Dinner at the United Church Ina Benton returned to her Buffalo Road home after spending time at the Newark Manor. Carry White and Eleanor Schoonerman have both had successful cataract surgery. Judy Fletcher was guest preacher at the Marion United Church on March 7 in the absence of Rev. Dan Meyer. Marion Lady Knight Earns Honor - The Birds Eye Foods Section 5 player of the week honor for the week of Feb. 23 goes to Suzie DeFisher, senior forward for the basketball team. DeFisher scored 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in 56-26 victory over East Rochester to help Marion secure the Number one seed in Class CCC. My How We've Grown Party Invitations will be mailed to all families who have had a child baptized during the past two years. The celebration is March 21 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Gregory's Hall. March 17, 1955: More than 25 schools in the area were visited by the Marion Central school facility on visiting day on March 4. Community Carnival - next Friday, March 26, at 6:30 p.m. Carnival ending at 9 p.m. To help with the carnival, contact Mary Tack at 926.4474. A Spring concert featuring the fourth grade band will be held March 31 at 7 p.m. in the Elementary School Auditorium. The band will perform Westwind Overture, Dimensions and The Colonial Spirit March. Duets and trios will be performed to showcase students' work in small ensembles.
