Benefit planned for Newark baby
Colby George

Colby George has undergone two open heart surgeries in his short 9 months of life with many extended hospital stays. He was born with a large hole in his heart and narrowing of the pulmonary artery; diagnosed with Atrial Ventricular Canal Defect and Pulmonary Stenosis.

Colby now has an artificial mitral valve and, since his most recent surgery, one leaflet of the valve has clotted closed. With medicine, he is able to function with only one half of the functioning valve. He will require another open heart surgery to replace his artificial valve in the near future. He will then require at least two more valve replacements as he grows. There are many unexpected medical expenses for his parents, Jeanette and Robbie George, of Newark.

There will be a benefit Pasta Dinner to help his family on April 3 at the Fairville Fire Hall, Route 88 North, from 4 to 7 p.m. Adults will be $6 and Children 10 & under $3.50.

Many local businesses have donated gifts. Raffle tickets will be sold in advance and at the door. You need not be present to win.

For tickets, or donations, contact Keith Battle at 315.331.5184, 7064 Bauer VanWickle Road, Lyons, NY 14489.
