Saving old cell phones The Lyons Public Library is now collecting cell phones and chargers for the Victim Resource Center of the Finger Lakes, Inc. The Victim Resource Center provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. The cell phones will be provided to people who have suffered as a result of domestic violence or sexual assault and may need immediate access to local emergency services. A cell phone collection box has been placed on a table near the library's front desk. People are urged to bring in their cell phones and chargers if they have any and put them in the box. Cell phones will be accepted without chargers or even if the battery is no longer charging. A representative from the Victim Resource Center will then periodically collect the phones and chargers from the library. Phones and chargers may be dropped off at the library, which is located at 67 Canal Street in Lyons, during regular hours. The library is open Monday and Wednesday 10 a.m. 5 p.m., 7 9 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday 12 p.m. 9 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. 5 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. 1 p.m. Call the Lyons Public Library at 946.9262 for more information about the program.
