County Shopping Fling this weekend

See what a unique shopping experience Wayne County has to offer. This year over 20 shops have joined in a collaborative effort to show you just what Wayne County has to offer in the antique/country store/gift shop arena. The weekend of May 15th and 16th each store will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.. There will be refreshments and give-aways offered at each store. Why not make a day or weekend of it and visit each of them?

My Sister's Side Door. Hidden from plain view, My Sister's Side Door literally has a side-door entrance behind Poppy's Garden Florist at 16 East Main Street in Sodus. They offer an eclectic mix of quality gift items, jewelry, candles and home dcor (indoor & outdoor). They offer works by many local artisans. (You can't beat home town talent.) It is situated right on the lake with an exquisite view. There are many vendors, so a wide variety of antiques, specializing in beautiful antique furniture, with books, glassware, home items, pictures, nautical items and much more. This spring, docks will be open so boaters can come in right off the lake. Also, there will be a tea room in the spring.

Lukacs Pottery Studios, 7060 Route 14, Sodus Point (315) 483-4357. Lukacs Pottery is a working studio and gallery. Visitors are welcome to tour the studio and see how wheel-thrown pottery is made. The gallery features functional and sculptural stoneware pottery, including bowls, mugs, vases and unusual cat banks, night lights and decorative wall plaques and platters. Some of the most unique pieces are musical instruments: clay flutes, ocarinas and horns. The shop also has other artists' jewelry, blown glass and candles. Open 10 to 6, Tuesday through Sunday

The Leaning Barn, established in 1981, is located at 3909 North Main Street. Recently remodeled, the Barn no longer leans, but is still filled to the rafters with goodies old and new! Store hours are Wed. - Sat. 10am-5pm and Sunday 1-5pm or call (315) 926-5625 and store owner Diane Van Lare will gladly open for you.
