Congratulations to the 2004 Prom Court: Dannis Matteson, Pete Goodridge, Hayley Starks, Ricky Dean and our King and Queen - Ryan Weser and Chrissy DeFisher.

Marion students acknowledge World AIDS Day: 'Pay for Your Tray - It Will Make Their Day.' It wasn't the average day in the high school cafeteria on April 8 as students and staff picked up lunch trays for other students who were finished eating. It was all for a good cause as students paid to have their lunch tray or lunch bag be taken away by one of a slew of student/volunteers. Better yet, students paid up to $1.00 to have a teacher/staff member remove their tray. A total of $243 was raised to help in the AIDS crisis in Africa. The money will be sent to Oprah Winfrey's Angel Network to be forwarded to South Africa for food, health care, and educational supplies. Thank you to all who took part in this worthwhile endeavor and special thanks to Ms. Costello who organized this event.

Stop by and see what's new at the Open House on May 15 and 16 at Hunneybear's Market & Garden Center, 4088 Park Dr., Marion. 926.1115.

The Sons of the American Legion will meet May 24 at 7 p.m. at the Legion Hall.

The National Honor Society received a letter from the Marion Food Pantry acknowledging the success of this year's penny drive. Patricia Trout informed Mr. Quill and Mrs. Reinhardt, Honor Society advisors that this year's donation of $3100 was the largest ever given by the district. The drive culminated by a satirical rendition of 'The Price is Right' that entertained students and staff. Congratulations to all that participated.
