Kiwanians receive Wal-Mart grant for reading The Newark Kiwanis Club is the recipient of a Wal-Mart grant, which will help support the New York State Summer Reading Program at the Newark Public Library. The $1250 awarded will be used to purchase books, reading incentives, and supplies along with funding a variety of programs. The objective of the Summer Reading Program New York is Read, White, & Blue is to entice children and teens to read and make it exciting for them. Newark Public Library is grateful for all of the support the Newark Kiwanis Club and Wal-Mart has given the library in providing this free summer reading program. The Library offers a variety of fun programs for preschoolers to young adults. All summer long, children and teens will be inspired to read with story times, performances, arts and crafts, and much more. Programs available this summer include preschool storytime, crafts, aromatherapy, scrapbooking, popular movies and animated films, an official MONOPOLY Game Tournament, and much, much, more!
