Lyons Library vote tomorrow The Lyons Public Library held a public hearing last Thursday night to answer questions about the bond referendum scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday, November 9). If passed, this referendum will provide the Library Board of Trustees permission to fund their plans to relocate the library. They plan to renovate and expand the old Lyons Community Hospital, located at 122 Broad Street in the village of Lyons, as the library's new home. Board President James Frind welcomed over two dozen people to the informational session and gave an overview of the project, the referendum, and details about balloting, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Balloting will take place in the library, located at 67 Canal Street and at at the Lyons High School. Theresa Streb, director of the library, shared detailed information about the project and the need for a new library. Elizabeth Krisanda, of The Barrows Group updated those present on the status of the capital campaign currently underway which is designed to obtain voluntary contributions to reduce borrowing under the bonding. Bruce King of the architectural firm Holmes, King, Kallquist and the Library's bond consultant Mark Vislosky of Fiscal Advisors, were also there to answer technical questions. Questions regarding the project were taken from the public and answered by the panel.
