Signs now designate that the Marion Fire Department is 'Private Property.'

Chris Shoales spent time with his mother, Dr. Elbis Shoales, during her birthday week.

THANKSGIVING was declared an annual national holiday in 1863, partly due to a long campaign by magazine editor Sarah Josepha Hale.

The Historic Association meeting will be held on Monday, November 15, at the Marion Museum at 7 p.m. Discussion will include plans for the newly acquired 'Jennie's House.'

The Legion Auxiliary is holding an EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING SALE on Saturday, November 13, from 9 to 5 at the Legion Home.

November 18, Marion High School Senior trip to Washington, DC and New York City.

Nov. 18 is the Marion PTA meeting at 7 p.m. in the Elementary Faculty Room, and the Junior High Band and Chorus Concert at 7:30.

'Enjoy yourself... .these are the good old days you are going to miss in 10 years.'

NOVEMBER 13, 1952: Torches carried by Boy Scouts lighted the procession of youth groups that paraded through the streets Monday night prior to the rally held in the Marion Central School as the $2100 Community Chest drive got underway.

November 20 is the date for the shopping event at Braselton's Music Concert Hall, Route 21, Marion, from 9 to 1:30. Bring your shopping list for the holidays; there will be refreshments and door prizes. Support your local businesses - there will be many vendors there.
