Happenings Nov. 17, MCS 7th grade boys basketball team defeated Gananda 30-28. The victory was an excellent team effort. Congratulations to seventh-grade class officers: President Mackenzie Reiss, VP Corey Mulhern, Secretary Allison Morris and Treasurer Mary Mabon. Last Wednesday, a full bus headed toward Buffalo where we enjoyed a performance of the Rockettes and a delicious dinner. A nice day away and a chance to see some old friends from Marion, Lyons and Clyde. White Feathers Bakery has lots of different breads and desserts. Remember to stop in and take advantage of the first bakery we've had downtown in at least 50 years. Thanks ... to the manager and staff of the KWIK FILL for their generous donations of food for the needy which has been delivered to the Marion Food Pantry. It is much appreciated. 'Make one person happy each day ... even if it's yourself.' Thanksgiving Testimonies were given by the congregation and friends at the Marion Second Reformed Church on November 21. Bev Layton's knee surgery went well, and she has now returned to the Blossom View Nursing Home in Sodus. The Marion Museum will be open December 4. One of the displays will be titled 'Fancy Furs.' Bring your appetite on December 4 to St. Gregory's for a super Pasta Supper. Seatings at 4:30 and 6. Adults, $6; under 12 years, $3, and under 3 years, free. Take-outs available. Menu includes pasta and sauce with meatballs, salad, relishes, assorted desserts and beverage. Tickets at the parish office. NOVEMBER 8, 1942: A membership of 103 was reported in the recent PTA membership drive at Marion Central. The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade began in 1924. The first balloon character to appear was Felix the Cat in 1927. This you can watch the Towpath Volunteers Fife and Drum Corps in this parade. John and Eileen Ballesty entertained John's sister and husband, Kitty and Pat Cavanaugh from Massachusetts, during last week. The Boy Scouts collected a large amount of food for the Marion Food Pantry during their recent food drive. Thanks to all who helped and to all who contributed.
