Hawver named to advisory committee

Annette S. Hawver from Lyons has been appointed to the New York State Office for the Aging's Aging Services Advisory Committee.

The announcement of Hawver's appointment was made by Neal Lane, Acting Director of the State Office of the Aging.

The committee meets in Albany to address the concerns of older New Yorkers, their families and caregivers. Members assist Governor Pataki and the State Office to help older persons to be as independent as possible for as long as possible through advocacy and the development and delivery of cost-effective policies, programs, and services which support and empower them.

Hawver is Director of Senior Services for Wayne County Action Program, Inc. (Wayne CAP) which includes the Foster Grandparent Program, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program and tax counseling for the elderly. She has been with Wayne CAP for 20 years.

Hawver holds and AAS degree in Recreation Supervision and a B.S. degree in Sociology and Psychology. She is working on her Master's in Human Service Administration.
