Service for the bereaved

A service for the Bereaved and Grieving will be held at First Baptist Church, 133 East Miller Street at East Avenue, Newark, at 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 12.

This service will be for everyone who's finding Christmas difficult due to the loss of a family member, divorce, job elimination, moving, children not coming home for the holidays, and those who have memories resurface of loved ones of long ago.

Participating churches and pastors:

Rev. Steven Matteson, First Baptist; Rev. Elton Smith, First United Methodist; Rev. Carlos Smith, Emmanuel United Methodist; Rev. William Crowder, Woodlane Community Church; and Rev. William Malone, Assembly of God.

Patricia Smith, wife of Rev. Carlos Smith, will be the featured soloist.
