Missing Sodus

fall scene While we were having summer (finally), you couldn't help but feel guilty about the people who were hit so hard with all the hurricanes. The Hoopers were without electricity and the car port blew over, but they were really quite lucky.

Oscar had outgrown his tiny sweater we had gotten for him, so we went out last night to get him more. Of course, with each outfit we're going on about how cute he looks and he is mad the whole time because he doesn't like putting them on or taking them off. The chill is definitely in the air. Before he knows it, he'll be wearing his winter coat.

It's fun to make seasonal recipes as well as putting up some decorations. Although I have accepted the Halloween things up in the stores in September, there is something different about looking at the Halloween things, then going on the other side of the aisle and finding Christmas sitting there.

Another week of fun things to do. Fall decorating can be a lot of fun, but doesn't need to be expensive. The Dollar stores have the leaves and fall flower garlands as well as the bunches of fall things. You can pick up a basket, add the flowers and leaves and you have a basket for the porch or front stoop. If you have a basket you could go out with the kids and collect plants that dry well from the fields, add a small pumpkin or two to put in front. The fall foliage can also be placed in a vase or container you have in your home and then placed on the dining room or kitchen table. (After all who knows more about seasonal decorating then Mother Nature herself?) If you have allergies, of course, you might want to use the fall plants from the store. A basket of apples is always a fast way to get the fall look.

Have a great week and enjoy with your families all of the fall events.
