Cracker Box moves to Alasa Farms
From the Staff at Cracker Box Palace

Griff Mangan and family have been big supporters of Cracker Box Palace.

We quickly ran out of space at the old location and our new location is every abused animal's dream. It overlooks beautiful Sodus Bay. Alasa Farms is located on the corner of Red Mill Road and Shaker Road in the Town of Sodus.

The animals have room to run and plenty of grass to eat. After the abuse that some of them have endured probably most of their lives, this is surely heaven sent. Raising money to feed the entire animal population at the farm is a full time job for the volunteers that work at the palace. We have put together events to hopefully bring in members of the community to both enjoy the day at the farm and raise money to care for the animals.

Cracker Box Palace has a list of events:

A Fall Extravaganza is planned on October 23, at The Cracker Box Palace at Alasa Farms. Admission is $2 (children 7 and under are free). We plan to have events for the children, such as bring your best decorated, painted or carved pumpkin for judging and prizes.

Dress up in your best Halloween Costume for our costume contest. For the adults, devise a unique way of 'chuckin' a punkin'! Get teams to challenge each other. The chuckin' starts at 2 p.m. and awards to be announced at 3. Judging will be based on accuracy and distance.

If you are a baker, we personally challenge you to enter the 'Great Zucchini/Apple Bake Off' Your dish has to include Zucchini, Apple or both. Entries will be taken in starting at noon to 12:30. All dishes will be auctioned off at the end and the proceeds will go to the animals at the farm.

In November: Pies with Santa will be held at Alasa Farms in the Main Barn. Bring your own pet or use one of our pets. Pick up a loving bunny to foster care for a few months, or pick out an animal at the farm and sponsor them and receive your Christmas card especially from them with all of their love. What a great Christmas gift for your animal-loving child. You can visit the animal anytime and bring treats. Each sponsorship is one year long.

A Blue Moose Dinner and silent auction are planned in November. Last year's event hosted more that 500 items for auction and we served over 100 dinners. This year, we plan to do even better. Oh, by the way the dinner was wonderful!

In December, we will be having a Christmas Open House. Come and visit our animals and enjoy the Christmas events that we have planned for the day.

We hope you have found at least one event that you are interested in and you can find time in your busy day to visit the farm and see the animals.

Our quest will continue and we will go out of our way to help anyone who needs us with the care of an animal or any animal who just needs the love of someone!
