Another week has gone by and Halloween is getting closer and closer. (Now days, you can go for a ride and it's almost like looking at Christmas lights...The huge balloon characters, everyone from Tigger, Frankenstein, the three ghosts, witches and scarecrows. I even saw Scobby Doo the other night. The lights and decorations are really fun to see.)

Halloween Bowling: Fill (10) 2 liter empty bottles with water (only half full). Place them like bowling pins are placed. Then get a small to medium real pumpkin and try to bowl with it. make sure the stem is off the pumpkin. It is funny!

A cute Halloween movie? A old time favorite we all watched as kids: It's The Great Pumpkin , Charlie Brown and Winnie the Pooh Frankenpooh. The Dollar Stores have an assortment of Halloween coloring books for, yes, you guessed it: $1. They also have cute pencils for the occassion. And don't forget the libraries have a lot of Halloween and Fall books to borrow. Of course, a fun way to celebrate Fall is to take a nice drive with the family and look at the pretty leaves.

The Kraft Shack has fun crafts to make:

ONE STROKE PAINTING Wed., Oct 27 - 6:30 to 9 p.m. Learn how to paint One Stroke pumpkins and leaves on a tin bucket. $30 includes all. If you have brushes, $20.

FALL PUMPKIN ARRANGEMENT Mon., Nov 1 - 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Time to decorate for fall. Enjoy decorating this straw wreath with silk flowers, wooden watering can, pumpkins and a bow. $39 includes all.

To make a fun Fall wreath with the little ones... trace around the little person's hand using red, yellow, and orange construction paper. Glue the shapes onto two construction pages that have been attached on the edge. Place the handshapes into a circle. Then Mom or Dad can write Happy Fall, Happy Harvest, or something similar. Got some time? How about a orange and black chain like the Christmas ones we all made as kids.

There are a lot of fun events happening the end of the month. So much to do, so little time. A fun storytime snuggled on the couch with the family with Halloween books is a great way to spend a chilly afternoon or evening. If you need help in finding a good one, Carol from Sodus Library can help you and Robin from the Williamson Library will know where to look. Also, begin early looking for the Christmas stories. It's amazing how fast Holiday books disappear when the season is upon us. There are a lot of fun cds with Halloween music and of course, all the videos. There is even one with Dora the Explorer. Have a fun weekend. Thanks to everyone who has helped me to keep the readers informed. If you have information you'd like to share, please write to me at
