Wild Wings, a not-for-profit educational organization in Hilton, visited Newark
Middle School Wednesday.
Wild Wings houses and cares for permanently injured, non-releasable birds of prey (raptors). The NMS Student Council paid for the assembly.
Wild Wings Director Ellen Post holds Melinda, a barn owl named after Melinda Ardia. The former Newark Middle School science teacher and staunch environmentalist was killed in a car accident in the mid-1990s, in the early stages of her promising career. Wing
