Newark kids play for 'Pride of the Orange' Andrea Rommel and Mark Rogers of Newark are in the Syracuse University Marching Band. The 'Pride of the Orange' Marching Band is one of the finest university marching band programs in the nation and the flagship university band in the state of New York. The band performs at all home football games in Syracuse's 50,000-seat Carrier Dome and travels with the football team when they play in a post-season bowl game. The band includes more than 150 students. Rommel is a freshman majoring in music education in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. Rogers is a senior majoring in industrial design, also in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. Connecticut will be at SU today. The Big East game time is 1:30 p.m. Copyright
