Coin club to meet tonight

Dan White, representative for the American Numismatic Association, will speak at the Wayne County Coin Club meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, Route 31, Newark.

Dan's topic will be 'The Making of the American Money and Gold Rush Museum.' Using the old San Francisco Mint building, the group behind this project is seeking approval of a commemorative coin in 2008 to help finance this project.

The importance of the project was recently increased by the closing of the Smithsonian coin exhibit, leaving the American Numismatic Association Money Museum, in Colorado Springs, as the only comprehensive permanent exhibit of coins in this country.

Everyone is welcome to the coin club meeting and to partake in the auction.
